Are you fascinated by the way light shapes our world? Organized by SPIE, the US-based international society for optics and photonics, this highly anticipated photography contest invites both amateur and professional photographers to capture the profound influence of light.
This free-to-enter open call is a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between science and art, encouraging creators to document how light interacts with our daily lives, natural environments, and technological advancements.
Theme & Submission Guidelines
The contest theme is broad yet inspiring: The impact of light on life, nature, communities, and technology. Whether you are shooting cutting-edge scientific phenomena, a beautifully lit community event, or the raw beauty of natural sunlight, the judges are looking for striking visual storytelling.
- Submission Limit: Each participant may submit a maximum of two (2) photographs.
- Equal Opportunity: Because the contest is open to both amateurs and professionals, submissions are judged purely on their relevance to the theme, artistic merit, and technical quality.
